We hosted online the third in our series of expert panel discussions.
Battery storage, solar, wind, EVs, microgrids, community solutions – how does it all come together into a clean electric grid to help us break the dependence on fossil fuels?
In 2022, Maine passed strong utility accountability reforms requiring our electric utilities, Versant and Central Maine Power, to start planning their investments to support Maine’s Climate Action Plan and greenhouse gas reduction requirements.
Now, following a stakeholder process at the Public Utilities Commission to hammer out the details, the Commission has issued its marching orders, and the ball is in the utilities’ court.
Our experts on this panel discussion helped attendees learn about the latest in Maine’s integrated grid planning effort, what’s at stake, and how they can participate to steer the course of Maine’s clean energy future.
Discussion format webinar featured Maine energy experts:
- Steve Clemmer, Union of Concerned Scientists,
- Rebecca Schultz, Natural Resources Council of Maine
- Oliver Tully, Acadia Center
- Phelps Turner, Conservation Law Foundation
