Saturday, October 19: Prescott Field Accessible Trails Event, Farmington

    NRCM, the High Peaks Alliance, the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF), Life Enrichment Advancing People (LEAP), and the Town of Farmington partnered for an all-abilities accessible walk on UMF’s new universally accessible trail along the Sandy River, followed by lunch and socializing at the Town of Farmington’s Walton’s Mill Park along Temple Stream with new universally accessible features.

    During the walk and lunch at Walton’s Mill Park, we were joined by special guest landscape architect David Maynes to talk about designing Walton’s Mill Park for universal accessibility, and representatives from High Peaks Alliance, LEAP, Town of Farmington, UMF, and the Natural Resources Council of Maine spoke to the value of accessible trails and features on conserved lands for people of all abilities.

    Lunch was provided.
