NRCM news release
Today, President Obama announced that he has rejected the request from a Canadian company to build the Keystone XL oil pipeline, which would have transported tars sands oil from Alberta, Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.
“Today’s announcement by President Obama is a tremendous victory against the dirtiest oil on the planet. President Obama’s rejection of the Keystone tar sands pipeline is also a victory of ordinary people against multinational fossil fuel corporate interests. From Nebraska to Maine, citizens are standing up against Big Oil – and winning! A good news day for cleaner air, cleaner water, and a safer climate.”
