“Love the late afternoon light in this photo of the Rockland breakwater in January. Love this place, too, since it remains open to the public and is very popular. A volunteer group maintains the light keeper’s house. One elderly gentleman walks the breakwater every day, year-round. In the summertime it’s a sociable scene where you hear different languages and can find new friends. There is something about the place that is relaxing and inspiring, and people feel more open.” —Photo by NRCM member Steve Cartwright of Tenants Harbor, Maine
