“I canoed Great Meadow Stream, which is between North Pond and Great Pond. It was a great little stream to paddle on and opens out on a very open area that probably has lots of waterfowl in spring and fall. It is also a good place to see what invasive milfoil can be like.” Photo by Sam Horine

“Maine has great weather for local canoe trips. We saw a lot of sunning turtles on the lower end of Long Pond in Belgrade.” Photo by Sam Horine

“The Upper Grand Lake Stream area has so many places to explore. This photo shows our canoes lined up on the shore of Bottle Island in Junior Lake while we had lunch in the shade.” Photo by Sam Horine
