In late February of this year, NRCM member Hal Winters of South China, Maine, captured these stunning photos of a Barred Owl in his backyard. He reports that the owl stayed for about a half-hour, very intent on listening for any rodent activity under the snow. Unfortunately, Hal reports that it had no luck.
