This week’s My Maine photo was sent to us by NRCM member Callie Wronker of Jefferson, Maine. She sent this to us earlier this spring, of a beaver that visits her quite frequently from the nearby pond. Callie writes, “Interesting to be here at a time we usually find somewhere less muddy to be. There are ducks passing thru…buffleheads, golden eyes, ring necked. And we have a gang of woodies near the house. And then there’s the beaver! It’s pretty regular, comes by most evenings. Sometimes it just swims by, sometimes nibbles on goo just below the water at the shore. Last night, it came all the way into the yard for a few acorns! It cheers me to know many things go on as they should.” We hope this photo cheers you, too!
Do you have photos of wildlife that come to visit your yard? How about scenic vistas you have visited recently for a hike or walk to get some fresh air while physical distancing? If you have beautiful photos of Maine’s environment or wildlife, we want to see them. Please share your photos with us.
