The Orono Bog Boardwalk is a great location to visit if you would like to see and hear a wide variety of birds. You can also enjoy vegetation found in the bog and along the edge of the Bangor City Forest, which abuts the Boardwalk and is where you first enter the Boardwalk.
Enjoy signs along the boardwalk that include common birds, plants, and wildlife that you might encounter on your visit. Along with the boardwalk being wheelchair accessible, there are benches along the way, every 200 feet, so that you can rest, listen to the birds, relax, and enjoy your surroundings.
The Bog Boardwalk is maintained and managed in a partnership including the Orono Land Trust, University of Maine, and the City of Bangor.
