Toby Kilgore, Grants Manager
Toby secures and administers foundation grants and corporate gifts for each of NRCM’s advocacy programs. She also takes on special fundraising-related projects and collaborates with other members of NRCM’s philanthropy team to meet our fundraising goals. Prior to joining NRCM in 2010, Toby spearheaded membership recruitment and marketing at the historic preservation nonprofit, Greater Portland Landmarks. Toby grew up in the deserts of southern Arizona and the suburbs of Houston and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Art History from the University of Texas at Austin. She enjoys travel, and her passion has taken her to many places in the U.S and Europe, and to Central America for an archeological dig studying Mayan ruins. Toby lives in Westbrook, where she and her partner John are backyard beekeepers and share a fondness for superhero movies and detective stories. Toby is also the humble Kahu of two silly, beach-loving canine companions, Sheila and Dixie (Kahu is a Hawaiian term for caretaker and protector of something precious).
