As the year comes to a close and we wrap up months of hard work, we are proud to say that our project was certainly a success! At the beginning of the year, we began this recycling program to benefit both our school and our environmental, but the project also taught us about how important it is to take care of our environment and also how to work hard as a team.
In early May, Kathy Remmel (NRCM Member) and Michaela Bowen (NRCM School Project Intern) representing the Natural Resources Council of Maine visited China Middle School to check out the progress of the recycling program. In addition to this, we also got the opportunity to hear them speak and share with us some important information about the Natural Resource Council of Maine (NRCM). We learned about the importance of NRCM’s mission and why it is important for us to continue living life as stewards of the earth.
We appreciate the grant given to us by the Natural Resource Council of Maine and it has definitely made the recycling program at China Middle School much more visible. Thank you to NRCM and those who supported us this year through the many stages of our project!
