Anyone who is interested in helping protect Maine’s environment is invited to post to the Natural Resources Council of Maine’s (NRCM) Nature of Maine blog. This includes NRCM members, activists, supporters, and others. Registration and the creation of a user ID are required, although anonymous posts are permitted.
Users must use a tone that is respectful of other users. “Flaming” or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated. Neither will we tolerate offensive or illegal text, images, links, or other. The blog moderator may choose to give a warning to or immediately ban abusers from future use either indefinitely or permanently. Comments will be reviewed by the moderator before being published. The moderator will review comments during working hours, Monday through Friday.
Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users who violate copyright laws, either deliberately or unknowingly, will receive a warning. Such material will be immediately removed from the blog. Links to third-party websites and blogs are permissible as long as the moderator finds such links are appropriate to the blog entry and are responsible and respectable.
Spam is not tolerated on the Nature of Maine blog. This includes offering products or services, unless user has received approval in writing in advance from the moderator. Any requests should relate to the mission of the Natural Resources Council of Maine. Violators will be given warning before being banned, and the post will be removed.
For security and privacy reasons, any photograph or other image that contains third-person identifiable contact information such as phone number, email address, or website URL is not permitted. Users may not post their own email address or that of others, nor may they post other forms of direct contact information. Users may request permission from the moderator to post contact information when it directly relates to the blog entry (such as for an event). It is not permissible for the user to post information or an image that attempts to portray the user as having an official status at NRCM.
The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, “flaming,” spam, etc. as noted above is up to the moderator, representing the Natural Resources Council of Maine. Thus the moderator reserves the right to remove any post at any time, without notification. Posts made to the Nature of Maine blog do not necessarily represent the views of NRCM.
