Lambert Lake, tucked amidst mountains near the New Brunswick border, is an attractive and largely undeveloped Great Pond. The steep wooded shores along this 605-acre water body are broken only by a few rustic camps, mostly concentrated at the southern end.
Boaters and fishermen have traditionally enjoyed this scenic setting, rich in brook trout and landlocked salmon, but until a few years ago there was no guaranteed public access. To help ensure continued recreational use, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife acquired a 6-acre shorefront lot that accommodates a small launching ramp and an 8-vehicle parking lot.
The Department received support for its purchase from the LMF program and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Sport Fish Restoration Program.

DeLorme Maine Atlas and Gazetteer Map 46, C-2. From Vanceboro, go west on Route 6 approximately 6 miles. Turn right onto a gravel road and travel north roughly 1.5 miles. Take another right and travel east over the narrow haul road to the shore of Lambert Lake.
