“I took this photo on a visit to Maine in 2008 while standing on the ‘longest wooden footbridge in the country’ (as claimed by Yankee Magazine in their March/April article about the footbridge house), looking toward the inner harbor in Boothbay Harbor. I have walked across this bridge more times than I can count in my lifetime of visits to the region where both my mother and father grew up and graduated from the Boothbay Harbor High School in 1939. What a treasure it is to continue to enjoy this simple pleasure of crossing the harbor by foot and taking in such placid views as this one.” – Photo by NRCM member Nancy Root of Lansdale, Pennsylvania
